NOVOPLAST supports refugees from Ukraine with relief supplies

Currently, ten pallets full of relief supplies are being delivered to refugees from Ukraine. The campaign is being organised by the NOVOPLAST production plant in Hungary.

"The news of the outbreak of war horrified and shocked us all. The innocent civilian population has no choice but to flee their homeland with a few items of clothing in their bags," says Daniel Graf and his colleagues Monika and Bea from the Hungarian NOVOPLAST plant in Iharosberény. "Since many refugees from Ukraine with Hungarian roots are arriving, the support of our compatriots was particularly important to us," they continue. Many refugees, not only of Hungarian origin, are now housed in dormitories as well as in workers' and private accommodations in the vicinity of Iharosberény. NOVOPLAST Switzerland and its Hungarian subsidiary quickly decided to provide support with an aid campaign.

Thanks to the two companies, it was possible to determine what kind of donations are most urgently needed from one of the largest internationally recognised charitable organizations for the needy. Subsequently, baby food, ready meals, hygiene products, diapers, detergents and much more were purchased from a retailer for a total of CHF 10,000. In addition, NOVOPLAST employees in Hungary were also given the opportunity to pitch in and had the opportunity to contribute their own donations in shoe boxes. The NOVOPLAST in-house supplier Nike-Trans, which is shipping the approximately three tonnes of goods to the ecumenical relief organisation, is also taking part in the campaign and will deliver the goods free of charge.

The relief agency transports relief supplies to needy people who have had to suddenly abandon their homes because of the war. NOVOPLAST hopes that this campaign will make a small contribution to supporting people in need who don't know whether and when they will be able to return home.
